General Overview: Located in Downtown Phoenix, the look and feel of Bar Smith would make you think you were in a Scottsdale club. This multi-level club, although on the small side, has a lot to offer. There are 3 levels total with DJ's and  full bars on the 1st floor and on the roof. On the bottom floor there is not much room to dance between the bar and the DJ booth, but if you head to the back there is a decent sized seating area with an area in the middle that can be used as a dance floor. The second level is more of an intimate kick back area filled with sofas and has a small beer bar towards the back.  On the roof there is much more room to dance and, depending on the season, can be the best place to hang out or get down. Bar Smith also has great promoters and DJ's like Senbad and Pete Salas throwing events.  It is that fact combined with the music, vibe, and decor that cause a very obvious space problem. This place gets packed to the point that once we couldn't even get back in after stepping out because it was overcapacity.

Bartending: The drinks are about average price and a nice size. We have had varying experiences with the bartenders. Sometimes the bartenders are very knowledgable and make great drinks, but from time to time we get one that is clueless on some of the drinks we order. The good thing is that the tenders are not stuck up about it, and if they don't know something or make a drink to weak they will fix it the way you like if you tell them something about it. Normally, you won't have to wait too long for a drink, but once the club gets full it can take a little while.

Parking & Admission: Bar Smith is located Downtown so parking is a hassle with the construction. If you drive for a little while though you will eventually find a spot. Our suggestion is to get there early so that you can find parking easily, avoid a long wait in line, and make sure you can even get in.
