Hollywood Alley is by all definitions a dive bar, but one of the best the East Valley has to offer. The drinks are cheap and stiff, the crowd is lively, and it hosts local acts regularly. If you are looking for a nice upper class place than this is not the spot for you. If you are looking for something that is off the beaten the path and is full of culture and rock soul this is the place to be. Hollywood Alley normally hosts local Rock acts, but has also hosted Hip-Hop, Bluegrass, and various other genres as well. The owner stays very active in the bar and its operations and cares about the customers so you are in good hands.
